Final Phases of New Pipeline Construction
Elk Grove, California
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why are these new pipelines being built?
These pipelines will connect the remaining homes and businesses to Elk Grove Water Service's new state-of-the-art water treatment facility. By the end of 2008, residents will have both improved water pressure and water with better color and taste.
Where will this new pipeline go?
A pipeline will be installed along Elk Grove Florin Road between Elk Grove Boulevard and Highway 99. A second section will be installed on Elk Grove Boulevard between Elk Grove Florin Road and Elk Ridge Way. A third section will travel from 2nd Ave, to High Street and then up Polhemus Dr to the park. The final segment travels South along the railroad tracks and will not affect any homes. How will the new pipeline construction affect me?
The work will proceed continuously along the pipeline route, so the actual construction time in front of an individual home or business will take 3 to 4 days. The pipeline trench will only take a portion of one lane on the street. There will not be any complete stops in the flow of traffic and the streets affected will remain open throughout the construction period.
When will construction take place?
Construction crews will begin installing the new water pipeline in Fall of 2007 with a target completion of the end of 2008.
