Elk Grove Boulevard New Pipeline Construction
Elk Grove, California

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why is this new pipeline being built?

This pipeline will connect homes and businesses in the Old Downtown area to Elk Grove Water Service's new state-of-the-art water treatment facility. By the end of this Spring '07, residents will have both improved water pressure and water with better color and taste.

Where will this new pipeline go?

It will be installed along Elk Grove Boulevard from about School Street to Waterman Road. It will continue South down Waterman Road for about one block. For a map of the pipeline route, click here.

How will the new pipeline construction affect me?

The work will proceed continuously along the pipeline route, so the actual construction time in front of an individual home or business will take 3 to 4 days. The pipeline trench will only take a portion of one lane on the boulevard. There will not be any complete stops in the flow of traffic and Elk Grove Boulevard will remain open throughout the construction period.

When will construction take place?

Construction crews will begin installing the new water pipeline in Fall of '06 with a target completion of late Spring '07.
