Elk Grove, California
Halverson/Polhemus New Pipeline Construction
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why is this new pipeline being built?
This pipeline will connect neighborhood homes to Elk Grove Water Service's new state-of-the-art water treatment facility. By the end of this Summer, residents will have both improved water pressure and water with better color and taste.
Where will this new pipeline go?
It will be installed in sections of the following streets: Mary Ellen Way, Polhemus Drive, La Haya Drive, Elk Grove-Florin Road, and Halverson Drive. For a map of the pipeline route, click here.
How will the new pipeline construction affect me?
The work will proceed continuously along the pipeline route, so the actual construction time in front of your home will take 4 to 6 days. First, the pipe will be installed (2-3 days). Then, new curbs and gutters will be installed where necessary (2-3 days).
The contractor will make every effort to assure your driveway is accessible from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. During daytime hours you may not be able to get into your driveway if work is occurring in front of your home.
When will construction take place?
Construction crews will begin installing the new water pipeline in late January with a target completion of late June, 2006.
