Elk Grove, California
Halverson/Polhemus New Pipeline Construction
Project Overview:
There are some improvements coming to your neighborhood!
By the end of this Summer, you'll have both improved water pressure and water with better color and taste.
In 2003, Elk Grove Water Service began a program to improve water color, odor, and pressure. Although the water we provide has always met state and federal quality and health standards, naturally occurring minerals in the water can stain laundry and plumbing fixtures, and sometimes create odors.
Phase One was the building of our Railroad Water Treatment Facility. This is a state-of-the-art facility that meets or exceeds all state and federal water standards. The Railroad Water Treatment Facility came on line in late summer and officially opened in October 2005.
The new pipeline will bring it all to you
Phase Two of the program is to connect this improved water source to Elk Grove Water Service customers.
To achieve this goal, we need to install new pipelines in the Halverson/Polhemus area of town. Once completed, customers in the project area will begin to receive the improved water. You can expect your water pressure to improve as well.
Through June, sections of streets in your neighborhood will be under construction. While we are doing everything possible to minimize any inconvenience, there will be some disruptions.
At times, there may be added noise or delayed traffic. Some properties will have the new pipeline installed along their sidewalks. This may inhibit access to your driveway for brief periods of time.
Our goal is to minimize any inconvenience and to restore everything to original condition.
Pipeline construction areas
Construction crews will begin installing the new water pipeline in late January with a target completion of late June, 2006.
Streets affected
Mary Ellen Way, Polhemus Drive, La Haya Drive, Elk Grove-Florin Road, and Halverson Drive.
The Board and staff of Elk Grove Water Service thank you for your cooperation and patience. We're sure you'll enjoy the improved water quality this project brings.
